Three views of Ornette and Denardo Coleman during Coleman’s The Empty Foxhole session, Englewood Cliffs NJ, September 9 1966 (photos by Francis Wolff)
The Empty Foxhole is a fine LP, especially considering the fact that Denardo was only 10 years old here. When you have Ornette Coleman and Jayne Cortez for parents, I guess talent will be in your DNA.
The World Saxophone Quartet: Oliver Lake on alto, David Murray on tenor, Hamiet Bluiett on baritone and Julius Hemphill on alto.
